Today marks a historic and proud moment for our State’s transport sector. I am truly delighted to inaugurate the Command Centre for the Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD) system.

• This initiative is not merely a technological addition; it is a transformative step towards making Assam’s transport system safer, more transparent, efficient, and accountable.
• With real-time vehicle tracking and improved monitoring, the VLTD Command Centre will enable real-time tracking of vehicles, enhance passenger safety, especially for women and children, improve emergency response time, and strengthen monitoring and regulatory mechanisms, and usher in a new era of smart and responsive transport governance in the state.
